Where to start....
Basically, I'm writing to tell you all that after a long day of travelling, I arrived safely in Cork Ireland, at about 9:40 PM last night (Cork Time). We had a long layover in Amsterdam, so we decided to venture out into the city. It was surprisingly easy to get in and out of the airport. One person who worked there said that it would be easy getting back in because there is hardly anybody in the airport in the evening - we thought he was lying, but he wasn't kidding - we got back to the airport at 5 PM even though he suggested 7 and it was completely DEAD there! It's just different over here I guess. In Amsterdam we wandered around a bit and made our way to Anne Frank's House! It was really interesting! I guess we weren't supposed to take pictures, but I'm going to play the dumb American card and say - well, I didn't know that! I snuck a few in. :)
After seeing the house, we made our way back to the airport for another 4 hours until our flight!
We got to Cork afterall - I was able to find a payphone and call home and then we hopped in a Taxi and went to a Bed and Breakfast for the night! We stayed with an older woman named Eleanor and she was very nice! She gave us a glass of wine and then some advice on some things to be aware of in Cork.. A very friendly woman indeed! Then she sent us over to the pub to bring in the New Year! We headed home at about 12:02 though because we were wiped out! Today we got to our lovely apartments and they are very cute! It's tiny, but right on the river and really cute!
Today, we're going to head to the Market and just get settled into this BEAUTIFUL city!

Yay! Blog! I think this may be the best idea you have ever had besides deciding to make a pile of chocolate "poop" with the extra chocolate from making Christmas cookies.

ReplyDeleteWow I did it...my comment went through meaning I figured out what I was doing wrong...how cool is that...hope your adventure is going well can't wait to follow it as you post comments. The weather outside is so beautiful today cold only 16 degrees but no wind, I plan on bundling up and taking a long walk on the trail...other than that I've been working on my job hunt daily, swimming at the fitness center in Waconia 3 days a week and just enjoying life....
