Oh Lord, how awesome is your name through all the earth! You have set your mejesty above the heavens. When I see the work of your fingers - what are humans that you are mindful of them? - Psalm 8

Going to the Ball

Thursday night the UCC Chaplaincy hosted their annual Charity Ball for the Christina Noble foundation. I was part of the committee and helped them do some of the more menial tasks in preparation for the night… such as begging businesses for spot prizes and selling tickets for the event. Balls at UCC are fairly common. Most clubs and societies have them, so it was good for me to go to at least one during my time here at UCC. I had so much fun as well! We got to get all dressed up and had a fancy dinner. Christina Noble was even there and gave a speech after the meal. While the chicken I ate was absolutely delicious, the best part of the meal was the dessert! I had 5! They gave us each a plate with 5 little tiny desserts on them – SO GOOD! After the meal, came the dance. There was a great band that played lots of good music. The night seemed to go on forever. It felt like I was back at a lock-in or something, but really well dressed. And, I feel really old because it really only went until 2 AM. Also, I somehow ended up signing on to stay the night at the hotel which was paid for by the Chaplaincy. After some friends and I were tired of dancing we sat around and just hung out. It was lots of fun. At one point, we were sitting in a circle on the floor and this drunk lady came up, put her back to us, and dropped a HUGE bag of marshmallows out of her jacket right into our circle. We didn’t ask questions. J
It was a very fun night indeed!
Also, the very next day, a photo of the committee was put in the newspaper. I was in the very front and center of the picture…holding my complimentary glass of wine. This was comical because out of everyone in that picture, I probably had the least amount to drink and it took me a very long time to finish that glass of wine. Haha.
Here is a picture of the picture if you want to see it:
